CISS believes cancer is a systemic disease and that all therapy should be wholistic, considering the body, mind, emotions and spirit. It advocates an alternative approach based on self-help, scientifically proven evidence-based methods that do no harm, so individuals diagnosed with cancer can take control of their health. CISS provides information to its members personally, by phone, via its website & app and online e-library, enabling them to make informed choices based on the above principles. CISS specialises in evaluative research, analysing the statistical validity (both absolute and relative) of published evidence-based medical research and by presenting findings in a meaningful and understandable format to the lay public.
